Updates!

Plans for the wedding are moving full-steam ahead thanks to a weekend of planning with my mama. We picked up "the dress," met with the priest, and a florist. My brother (who is just getting his career started in web design) has begun designing the website, which is going to look PERFECT. I also went with one of my bridesmaids to look at bridesmaid dresses this weekend. We loved this one:



which the dolt of a salesperson told us was not available in pink. After I went to check on the website I see that it, in fact, is...but not quite the pink that I want. I am hoping that the seamstress I am going to can do these in a soft ballet-slipper pink. I hope my other girls like it!

On another note, I am so excited to be working with our photographer in two weeks for our engagement photos! His photographs are all so beautiful, I can't wait to see how ours turn out!

Time to take the baby dog to the dog park. I should take the camera too so I can show you how big he's getting!

I Love Post Secret!

Usually, that is. This website allows people to send in their secrets anonymously, you know, to "get them off their chests." This site usually makes me laugh hysterically, with gems such as:

but when I saw this "secret," I actually cried. I am glad I found it, because I would totally have left the room before I saw this:



I know, heavy right?

On a happier note, my cousin is coming for a weekend o'fun, and we are thisclose to booking our March Break Ireland trip. That reminds me, I should post about Chi-Town...maybe later.

A Domestic Dispute...Over Chinoiserie?

I should preface this post by letting you know that generally, Steve and I have completely congruent (if not complimentary) taste...That being said, I do have a penchant for the "unique" every now and then, that he just doesn't understand.

Exhibit A:
My dream dishware. The pattern is called Chinoiserie by Jasper Conran for Wedgewood. I see it as playful, unique and intriguing.



Steve, on the other hand, sees it as hideous and outrageous. His preference was for a much more tame (read: boring) Vera Wang pattern for Wedgewood. You know, the one everyone has?



I do actually like the pattern he chose, but I am so ridiculously attached to the dishes I love that it's hard to see any other option. Here is my solution...If we register for the set that he likes, and the salad plates and soup bowls for my pattern, I think the combination would be beautiful together. The silver detailing on the Vera Wang plate is mirrored in the Chinoiserie pattern...Although he has put his foot down on the green dishes, he is relatively more open to the white ones. You know I'm just going to keep pushing the issue 'till I get my way.
